Dandelion (Taraxacum)


Dandelion is a very powerful herb for antimicrobial, antihepatotoxic (liver detoxifier), hepatotonic (tones, balances, strengthens the liver), antiparasitic, immune stimulant.

Properties are: anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antihepatotoxic (liver detoxifier), antimalarial, antimutagenic (cellular protector), antioxidant, antiparasitic, antispasmodic, aperient (mild laxative), hepatoprotective (liver protector), hepatotonic (tones, balances, strengthens the liver), hypotensive (lowers blood pressure), immune stimulant, insecticidal, muscle relaxant, weak uterine stimulant, vasoconstrictor.


May speed the clearance of some drugs in the liver (thereby reducing their effect). It is mildly hypotensive (lowers blood pressure).

Dandelion is great for purifying the blood. It is a very good remedy for of the liver and kidneys. It is also full of vitamins A, B, C, and D, as well as minerals such as iron, potassium, and zinc. Dandelion leaves are used to add flavor to salads, sandwiches, and teas. The roots are used in some coffee substitutes, and the flowers are used to make wines.
